Any word yet on Washington budget crisis? I read that many government financed offices could close or reduce services on July 1 if money isn’t found. ED is scheduled for complete closure.

They did this at Canterbury a few years ago. They lost 12 days of live racing. Honestly I will be surprised if it comes to that. They will get the budget balanced. They are threatening to close way too many other significantly important things. Drama Queens the lot of them
Our local politicians always pull their heads out of their asses eventually in the nick of time and act like heroes when they finally get the job done that they should’ve finished in March. Politics as usual.
Not that it’s a great loss. Most of the state employees at Emerald Downs couldn’t spell a horse’s, trainer’s, or rider’s name correctly if their life was on the line. The daily stewards’ report is embarrassing.
With the asinine call the stewards made today regarding the stakes maybe it SHOULD shut down
