Emerging Athletes Program

I am interested in do the EAP next year, but I am not quite sure how it works. Do you have to go to all of the regional clinics to have a chance at making it to the finals? If so, do you have to use the same horse for all of the clinics? If you have done the EAP before, do you have any advice? Any and all answers appreciated!

Lots of good information on the website - https://www.ushja.org/programs/eap/eap_intro.aspx but you can only go to one regional clinic

First - go to the link above. The information there is the best source to learn about the program.

You have to apply to ride in one of the regional clinics. If you are accepted, you do have to bring your own horse to that clinic. If you are chosen to attend the national finals, horses are supplied by the host facility and you draw one from a hat.

You should try to attend a regional clinic to watch before you apply - you will learn a ton from watching and see if your skills and experience line up with what the program is looking for.

Hi Olivia, you need a work ethic (you have that), a horse that can jump a 3’6" course, not just a grid but a course, and I think $500. Apply and have fun.
