I think each board has it`s own flavour - while I love the muckbucket for a more personal board - we need the more commercial board.
The website still says it will come back up. Do you think they will be emailing all the users?
I didn’t get an e-mail. They had hackers/spammer to contend with. I imagine it will open again.

Bummer! Maybe we can start a new one for Ontario?
Is there no way the mods can update the site security to prevent future attacks?
The EMG board is such an important tool and resource for the horse community in Ontario, and beyond.
Really disappointed.

Sad to hear that. When I first started back as a rerider in Ontario, it was a wealth of local knowledge!
I’d noticed it wasn’t as active as it used to be… maybe it’s just not worth the hassle any more for Equiman? They have one or two things on their plate at the moment LOL.

This pattern repeats with EMG - perhaps if the members offered monetary support through an annual fee???
I don’t believe they get anywhere near the advertising $ and BB’s do cost money to run each year even when you aren’t dedicating personnel to undoing hackers work
I won’t miss it…it was too heavily “moderated” and I hardly went there any longer. Too bad, right before the PanAm games and Bromont… but I frankly don’t care about everything that had to be so PC and rescue? slaughter? no, doesn’t exist with EMG!

Well that is SAD if it is indeed true!!! I didn’t get an e-mail unless perhaps it went to junk or I missed it (I tend to mass delete because I get a lot of crap in my inbox). I enjoyed that it had more Canadian-centric content. And there were lots of virtual ‘characters’ that you got to know and enjoy.
I will miss EMG though I didn’t enjoy it as much recently as I did many years ago. I checked in every morning and found some useful information. I also knew a lot of the posters. Some I knew in person and others I felt I knew just from their posts. I will certainly miss the “Ask the Vet” forum. And Naddy Devine no need to get catty regarding certain posters.
The Muck Bucket seems to be more of a private chatty board. There is very little technical information, classifieds etc.
