Enable: Amazing!

Surprised that no one has already commented on Enable’s amazing King George at Ascot (unless I missed something). She ran a wonderful race, starting from the outside and defeating Crystal Ocean in a long, hard stretch drive:

I think Dettori only used his whip once, then a powerful hand ride.

What a mare! And what wonderful ears!

Well, I don’t know anything about horse racing but that was pretty fun to watch!!

WEll, Dettor might have used the whip only once or twice, but it was in full view of Enable’s eye in that powerful hand ride.:lol::lol:

She is an exceptional mare. Its interesting, with good colts generally raced and retired fairly quickly these days, its the good race mares that we get a chance to follow and cheer for thru their longer careers. That was an awesome race to watch.

Horses staying in training for years is one reason why jump racing is possibly more popular than flat in the UK.

She is an exceptional mare with an exceptional team behind her.

Love her!

What a mare, and what a race that was! I was up at Saratoga on Saturday, and everyone was talking about this race all day - that stretch duel was so thrilling, and Dettori’s interview after the race almost made me cry.

Thanks for starting this thread; I kept meaning to but never got round to it. Enable and Frankie are an exciting and marvelous distraction from all the chaos plaguing US racing this year.

ETA: Another bright star is Stradivarius, aptly named because he is the maestro of distance racing. He won the Goodwood Cup for a record 3rd time today.

This mare is amazing!

Third win in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (G1) at Ascot just now.

3 horses in the field the other being Japan and Sovereign.

Enable broke from the middle of the three. Sovereign was the pacesetter (as expected) and opened up 6-7 length lead with Enable in second being trailed closely by Japan.

Turning for the wire, Enable opened up easily and gobbled up the distance to Sovereign mostly in a hand ride by William Buick (IIRC). Buick did go to the whip to get by Sovereign but finished easily. Sovereign was second a few lengths back with Japan third. Raining pretty hard during the race.

She’s got a Win and You’re in for the BC Turf but her big objective again this year is the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1).

She has her three-peat. Great race

She’s aiming now for an Arc 3-peat next (having not gotten it last year).

She cruised to the win! Wonderful mare!

Such an incredible mare.

I was hoping for a bigger field but she really is something.

She’s got her own topic.

Sad that we won’t see this fantastic mare on the track again but she has had a remarkable career.

Four Oaks, three King Georges, two Arcs, and Eclipse and a BC Turf.

She has a date with Kingman for 2021.

Frankel x Enable?

Not for 2021. As noted, Kingman has already been selected.

I think blood is a problem - too much Sadlers Wells. Kingman free of it.

She is 3x2 to Sadlers Wells
