If you are using existing english leathers what size neck/ or brand of trail riding stirrups work best? Seems the ones I am looking at would be much wider than my leathers and the stirrups would slide from side to side?
Thanks.

I have the Easy Care cage stirrups with a 2" bar for my english leathers. I’ve had this set up for a few years and haven’t had any type of slipping.
Same here, although mine are the 1.5" bar. No problems with slipping either.

This web page has the bars for sale in all the various widths. You can swap out that top bar if you already have a pair with a too wide top bar.

Digging through some old stuff in my brush box, I found a set of stirrups with a 3 inch top that I bought years ago. I decided to see what happened and I put them on and went for a ride. They worked fine and never slipped around at all. I could get some black vet wrap and secure them down, but I think I lucked out and saved a few bucks.
Podium. Just bought a 2nd pair today. Pricey buggers, and you have to buy them overseas, but IMO nothing else comes close. Unlike many other “closed” stirrups, they have room to really put your foot “home”–and ride on rough terrain with a seat like the bareback Greeks on the Parthenon. In sneakers. If you want to.
Would have been cheaper just to buy my BF a pair of boots . . .
