English barns in Lincoln, NE?

I posted in the eventing forum, but I’m finding it difficult to locate eventing barns in Lincoln, NE. I’m relocating to the Lincoln area in August of this year for grad school. Does anyone have any recommendations for board? An indoor/covered area is a must, as well as full-care and turnout. Access to trails would be a bonus. I have two horses and I’d like to keep it under $700, $600 would be ideal. Thank you!

I don’t know if she boards, and she is a jumper trainer, not eventer. However, I would highly recommend you check out Anne Warner @ Double Clear Equestrian. Although she can occasionally be a little harsh with her critiques, she is a very good trainer who knows her stuff, and if she is not a good fit for you maybe she could direct you to a barn better suited to your needs? I live in Omaha, Nebraska which is about an hour from Lincoln, so I am not as familiar with the area as she would be.

Try looking on the Iowa Nebraska Hunter Jumper (http://www.inhja.com) website to start if you haven’t. I think they link to a Nebraska-only site that’s more helpful.

I’d absolutely send you to Quail Run Horse Centre (http://www.quailrunhorsecentre.com) or Phoenix Equestrian (http://www.phoenixequestriancenter.com/home) if you were willing to take a bit of a drive. I’ve known, ridden around, and competed against the Urbans and Janine since I was a little kid.

I would not send you to Double Clear Equestrian and Anne Warner if you are used to more of a professional show stable, versus a “do it yourself” atmosphere. Anne and her students also ride at more of a schooling show level. So that might not be a fit, depending on where you and your horse are at in life.

Happy hunting!
