Eosinophilic disease

I am going down rabbit holes now trying to figure out what might be wrong with my beloved horse.

Eosinophilic disease seems as if it could be possible … there are not really any effective diagnostics other than surgical and I don’t want to go that route and would treat instead.

I heard from a friend that there was a top rider whose horse had the disease and I was wondering if anyone knew who that was … she can’t recall.

I just put one down on suspicion of EDM… severe eosinophilic bronchitis/enteritis was an unexpected (and unrelated) finding on necropsy. It’s apparently incredibly rare, but someone on FB mentioned their horse having intermittent eosinophilic bronchitis. Maybe try searching FB with that phrase and see what comes up?

Mine had no symptoms in spite of the severity of lesions that were found, so I probably can’t be much help.

Have you had a chance to get in touch w veterinarians in Internal Medicine at veterinary teaching hospitals? We had one with EMPF who got great care that way.
