I guess the answers are “none” and “no.”
Just as I suspected.
Ok so not quite an equestrian fashion blog but maybe you’ll appreciate this…
I thought it was going to be about wearing breeches not a show. In stead it was Mary-Kate wearing pretty much the standard horse show uniform. Albeit with a 20,000 purse haha.
I don’t know if you are on Instragram or not, but I follow some great fashion oriented accounts.
Search for hashtags like equestrianstyle, rootd, equestrianfashion, etc.
I think Instagram is better for this. I like katharinepage’s posts a lot.
eqstylist on IG, too.
Arrrrrggghhhhh. Will someone please explain to the Vogue writer the difference between jodphurs and breeches?
Seems to me that there must be one equestrian on the staff at Vogue.
— That said, Mary-Kate looks like she is ready to go into the ring (minus the hair and the un-tucked in shirt)
Acually she looks rather scruffy, despite Vogue’s characterization of her look as “brilliant”. Who knew that I have been brilliant all these years?
What division does she ride in? Who does she train with? Is she good or a celebrity wanna-be?

Mary Kate Olsen is seen quite a bunch on the island in the Adult Jumpers coming home with Champions (although the class counts are rather low, her rounds look clean and well-executed).
Not a celebrity wanna-be, she can definitely pilot around a course. Her grey is quite lovely (his name is slipping my mind). She rides with Heidi Earle in the Hamptons- Firefly Farm.
Not h/j focused but I like following the Shadbelly blog, found some pretty cool stuff on there.
The author is not wrong, according to Wikipedia:
Jodhpurs, in their modern form, are tight-fitting trousers that reach to the ankle, where they end in a snug cuff, and are worn primarily for horse riding. The term is also used as slang for a type of short riding boot, also called a paddock boot or a jodhpur boot, because they are worn with jodhpurs.
Opposed to breeches:
Breeches are an article of clothing covering the body from the waist down, with separate coverings for each leg, usually stopping just below the knee, though in some cases reaching to the ankles.
Breeches, in centuries past, were just another word for pants. My dad called my pants “britches” (alternate spelling/pronounciation) all the time. My jeans were “dungarees”.
While jodhpurs are commonly used for children’s riding pants in the US, they are a general term for riding pants. The style and name originated in India.
Jodhpurs could also refer to the pants worn in saddleseat attire super high waisted, tight through the thigh to calf with a bell bottom.

That’s an accurate description to give someone without much horse color knowledge an idea of what horse she is riding. I see no problem with it. Even a fellow equestrian may be way off the mark if I just said “gray” without adding - faded to white, dark dappled, etc.
You may want to jump on Pinterest, we actually have quite a few followers and many of them have pinned our products and developed a following.
This writer is obviously not educated and should not be writing anything re equestrian. Jodhpurs lmao
