Equestrian Stockholm Ear Bonnet Question

For those of you who have the Equestrian Stockholm ear bonnets - How the heck do I secure this to the bridle?

I don’t see a spot to put the throatlatch through. I put it on tonight under the bridle and it made it about five minutes before sliding off. My mare does have big ears, so if it’s a fit issue I’ll understand. I’m hoping there’s some obvious thing I’ve overlooked

Thanks!

You don’t. It’s meant for you to put on, then bridle directly over it. I have seen someone put it over the bridle and expect it to stay… but otherwise they stick pretty well if they fit.

Darn - it’s a fit issue then. My mare has super long ears (7+”) and I usually special order hers with long ears, but loved the lavender color combo so much I thought it was worth a shot.

Back to “not matchy-matchy” it is!

FWIW, ever since I switched to more modern ‘pressure relief’ style bridles, I’ve never had luck with this style of ear bonnet… they really need pressure to be held tight under the crown. I stopped even trying when my whole bridle slipped off along with the bonnet :uhoh:

Oh yeah, her bridle is pretty cut back behind the ears as well.

Thanks for confirming it wasn’t me

You could put a little loop of yarn on either side and slide the throatlatch through it before buckling.

I keep reading this as Equestrian Stockholm Syndrome

You just put them under the bridle. Although I’ve found that the ears run small unfortunately!
