Equestrian to be on REAL NBC CHANNEL?!??!

My Comcast tells me that Equestiran individual show jumping will be on later today on the MAIN OLYMPICS CHANNEL!! (channel 6 for me…)

Is it true? Or am I waiting in vain? Right now a bunch of girls with hula hoops are dancing…I’m not exactly sure what sport this is! But supposedly it’s suspossed to be on later. I’ve only seen equestrian on Oxygen…but I could be wrong. Is this normal?

Yes, at 1 Eastern/12 Central, the NBC website says.

I’m watching right now on the regular NBC station…12:18PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time zone.

Yep! It’s on!!

…Too bad Beezie had a rail…

What bit is Hickstead wearing?
OMG that horse is careful!

I think Hickstead is wearing a pelham/polo bit? He could wear me if he likes, man what an animal!

yeah - just tuned in again to real NBC!

My problem is they never use what to me would be the clever angles of the equestrian sports…the age of the athletes (I mean how many other sports have old farts winning gold??)
As well as the angle of the pairing of beast and man (or woman!!)! I mean you cant get a 1500 lb animal to do that if he doesnt want to!!!

wow…just call me threadkiller…lol

mroades, I agree. It’s so amazing and so different from any other sport. Also that men and women are competing against each other, know that was part of what you meant.

And I really think Animal Planet should do a follow up on how our bronze medalist was an Equ Finals winner…helloooo Road to the Olympics!

I’m glad it was on NBC for those of you who don’t get cable - but selfishly, I much prefer the more relaxed and lengthy coverage when it’s on Oxygen or USA. They edited it so hard that they never even announced/showed that Beezie won the Bronze! :o

I was disappointed in the the SJ final coverage. No round one coverage, limited round two! In fact is was only around 35 minutes! No R Pessoa etc! Give me a break!

I haven’t seen it mentioned here, but a friend who was watching on Oxygen told me that they cut to commercial right in the middle of Steffen’s ride, and then never showed the rest of it. Could they not have stopped the tape for the commercial? It’s not like it was live or anything…

I was pissed that day! Very short coverage and of course they cut to commercial 1/3 of the way thru SP ride! Glad I am not a big dressage fan because that coverage just sucked!

Will there be any DVDs for sale? Anyone know?

Dover’s new catalogue is advertising Olympic DVDs for sale. I’m not sure how edited they will be.

There are separate DVDs for each discipline and a discounted package of all available.

I have the dressage dvd’s from Athens.
They show 25 riders from the Grand Prix. Almost all are in their entirety.
10 rides from the Grand Prix Special and 7 rides from the Freestyle. And there is a 3rd disc that shows the US team rides without any commentary.
Commentary by Richard Davidson.

I would assume it will have a similar format for the Hong Kong Olympics dvd.

But watch them online if you can. That’s the only way to see the smaller nations ride. They did show part of a Greek rider’s test on the Athens dvd, probably because it was the host nation. But that was it. I love watching the smaller countries compete.
