Equi-Theme Riding Helmet?

Anyone?

never seen one of these in person… and i have to say, my first reaction to it was shock at the pricetag.

guess i’ll just keep my hot head in my much-less-expensive tipperary!

Meh.:stuck_out_tongue:

I prefer the look of some of the helmets Troxel has been doing in recent years. Love my brown Sierra.

Heck, even people from my barn who have been “riding for years and never wore a helmet” because they didn’t care for the bulky-overturned-muck-bucket-appearance actually went out and bought Troxels for themselves.

They saw me wearing mine, and I didn’t “back down” or stop wearing it when they teased me. Then they’d go on rides with me, where I’d go crashing through the brush and the thorns would just bounce off the helmet while they’d get thorns and twigs caught up in their hair or hats. So a few of them decided helmets weren’t so bad after all.

Maybe the makers of that helmet in the link could get Parelli to put his logo on the side. . .at $160, it seems more in the price range of his followers.

Meh is right

My neighbor has the brown Troxel Sierra, it is MUCH better looking. I have a hunter green troxel that is pretty nice too.

Those weird two tone brown are not attractive in my eyes, neither is the bird splotch white in the front.

Of course, I’ve been wearing a helmet since they were huge and ugly, so take my opinion for what it is worth.

I’ve been eyeing those. I have not found a helmet I truly love since the original Tipperary - I had one of those, tried the new generation (sucked) and was thrilled when they said they were returning to the original style - but it still doesn’t fit right.

I’d be willing to pay a good price for something that fits as well as that original Tipperary did. I would forget I even had that thing on.

It kind of reminds me of this Ovation helmet Go to the Sync helmet.

I have this one and its a nice fit, light weight, cool in the heat and a lot cheaper.

There’s a lookalike for half the price

I coughed up the full retail plus markup for the Equi-Theme helmet because it’s the lowest profile helmet I could find at the Horse Expo. I’m a pin head, so I’ll do anything to avoid the mushroom look.

Then someone found a lookalike for around $56 at Chick’s Saddlery. I never found out if they are identical except for the coloring or if one is a cheap knock off. It’s worth looking into.

410 grams advertised at the Action Rider site equals 14.5 ounces (not 14 1/2 ounds as they noted!)…and that’s two ounces more than the lightest I’ve found. The dial-a-fit broke down on my IRH in year or so. Admittedly, I butt branches on the trail quite a bit, but still, I was disappointed enough to never again buy the dial-a-fit–loved the way the helmet secured, but it’s too many small moving parts so it didn’t hold up for me.

It looks like Dover also carries the Lami-Cell.

SO many newer helmets around since the last time I looked.

I ADORE my LamiCell. Out of the many many helmets that have been on my head, the LC is the most comfie ever.
