Equi-trek horse trailers

Has anyone had any experience with Equi-trek trailers? I’ve done research into Bockmanns, too, but keep going back to the Equi-treks.

I’ve read many, many of the threads on here about Euro- vs American-style trailers (and honestly, about trailers in general). I think that with my lifestyle (living in a condo in a mid-size metro area) and car situation, it would be most economical to have a European style trailer that I can pull with a mid-size SUV, that doubles as a daily driver. Also, this would be my first trailer purchase, but I have used many belonging to others over the years.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve got one. I like it a lot. Do a search on the forum - I’ve posted about it before

It is a very popular brand in the UK. Given it is a large market with many manufacturers, their popularity says a lot for the product.

A good delve in to Google should bring up lots of UK based sites with stories of shody workmanship and poor after sales here (UK, about an hour from the manufacturers). The concept is fab, there are a reasonable number of older equi-treks still about, but there are far too many that fail with poor welding, incomplete floors and panels failing. There really aren’t that many on the road here compared to other UK brands that only offer a more basic trailer but have far better build standards.

Thanks for the tip, @Xanthoria! I did a bit of a search and read the threads.

I still have a question, if you don’t mind. How do you handle repairs/maintenence? Are you close enough to the dealer to use them, or do you use a local trailer shop?

Thanks again!

I use a local shop. But I’ve only needed to once - adding rubber mats to the walls for a pawed, and replacing the hitch jockey wheel which was damaged in transit to ten US. I don’t think they’re as well made as my old Brenderup was but so far no major complaints.
