Equiline saddles?

Just out of curiosity, not looking to buy, I just wanted to know if anyone had tried/bought one? I saw one at WEF, it had a rubber strip on the flap. It was an interesting concept, very pretty, but the traditionalist in me disagreed with rubber on a saddle!
I am told they make more traditional saddles too. Anyone have any experience?

. It was a “non-traditional” version and I loved it. In the jumper ring over the bigger jumps I could really see the appeal. It was really excellent quality, adding it to my future wish list

I just looked at their website and I think these saddles are so cool! By chance does anyone know how much they run? I’m not finding prices on their site.

Here they are in Euro… So over $3k? Actually doesn’t seem awful…

Spade: did the rubber help with grip? It was hard to tell how grippy it was from just touching it.
3k is pretty great actually! Especially compared to other brands.

I can use all the help I can get! It’s hard to describe, I noticed it and it was grippy but it wasn’t too grippy. That was not a helpful description at all, but its the best I can do haha

I would love to know how the leather and rubber holds up. All of my experience with synthetic material on a saddle came from my wintec, which I somewhat despised because it would get scratches and you couldn’t oil them out. Of course i never worried about the rain

Perhaps I can clear up some questions. Equiline saddles are made of calfskin leather and are made carefully by hand directly in our manufacturing facilities in Italy. Our exclusive Flap Grip Technology (FGT) is fabulous for helping to stabilize the leg, provide a bit of extra grip and security, while also minimizing wear of the leather on the saddle. We have several different models, some come with FGT and a couple without. Several retailers in the US are starting to carry our saddles and I am happy to direct anyone to them if you PM me or email me at info@equilineamerica.com

Pricing in the US ranges from $4100 - 4800 because you have to include international freight and customs duty tax on import. The price is still fantastic for a fine calfskin leather saddle that is hand made. Saddles can also be custom fit without any upcharge.

I hope my reply answers some of the questions here. Please let me know if you have more that I can help with. Grazie.

p.s. Thanks @spade for you kind review.

I sat in one of your saddles yesterday and I did not want to get up! The tack store told me it had some sort of gel seat or something and BOY was it comfortable. The flap wasn’t nearly forward enough for me, but I want it turned into a desk chair it’s so comfy.

Any further info on the equiline saddles?

Has anyone else had any hands on experience with these saddles? I’d really like to try the Nick Skelton, but would be buying sight unseen and have nothing to compare it to.
(tack store sponsorship)

I’d love to hear how they fit different horse and rider types, I have contacted Equiline usa but as I’m buying in Canada it seems I’m low on their priority list

I love the CWD 2Gs 2L SE01 but its a bit short through the bar (pommel length) for my horse and a tad rich for my budget.

Love the PJ Pro as well.

Any input appreciated!

Calle, Your best bet is to travel to a major show/equestrian fair to see them. Now I see their vendor booths everywhere at the major shows and (especially) show jumper competitions.
I haven’t seen any used ones yet. Maybe that is a good thing?

I also would really like to try one but none of the shows around me have equiline as a vender :frowning:

Thank you hunterrider23 for enjoying our saddle. You may have sat in our newer models that don’t have a very forward flap, but I think you will find that most of our models do have a forward flap. The Nick Skelton signature saddle is particularly popular with a forward flap.

Calle and Largo if you are still interested in trying an Equiline saddle please email us at info@equilineamerica.com and we will do our best to get you connected with a dealer that has trial saddles or if necessary send you a demo directly. We will also have a vendor stand at the following shows in near future (1) Washington International Horse Show, in Washington, DC, (2) The Dressage Finals in Lexington, KY, and (3) WEF 2016 in Wellington, FL. Dealers that are now carrying our saddles include Barrington Saddlery, Barrington, IL; RIDE in Bedford, NY; The Farm House in Landrum, SC with more stores on the way.

Yeah, she did say it was a brand new model for hunter riders or something like that and that it was more of a demo prototype. Do any of your forward flaps have the gel seat?

Yes, they do make more traditional ones. I’m an eq rider but I also do the Jumpers and I absolutely love mine. I have the more traditional one. It is called the Equiline Hunter Saddle and it’s amazing!

This is an old thread  but thanks for the input?
