Equine Jogging Shoe

Has anyone tried these - http://www.comforthoofs.com/our-shoes/ ? I would love to hear from someone who has had experience with them to know their pros and cons. They are expensive, but if they are what they are advertised to be, they would be worth it to me. I have a 15 year old 17.1 hand gelding who has never been shod. He was fine until about a year ago when we got into a dressage training program requiring him to sometimes be in footing which is harder and more abrasive than he is used to. His feet seem to be toughening up but he has ouchy days and I would like to have boots for for those days. The choice among boots is bewildering. I would like to find some that are light, comfortable, easy to put on, stay on, and don’t rub.

You might try posting this in the Endurance forum; it’s more likely to be seen by people who use boots often.

I thought about trying them for my mare, but was disappointed that they did not have a size that would fit her. (She has big hooves!).

I just went through this with my pony, ended up just having shoes put on the front. It’s helped tons. Sometimes they just need shoes. I’m using hoof armor in the back and so far its working outstanding.

Thank you for your responses. I did post in the Endurance forum and got a positive response. The hoof armor sounded interesting and I plan to investigate it further.

I don’t see prices anywhere?

Looking at the profile I’m not a fan. It has the look of an under-run heel on a real hoof. I know that is to prevent a horse from stepping on the boot, but it could create other issues if worn for an extended period of time.

Below are two reputable businesses selling endurance riding gear. The customer service is very knowledgeable, you could call and ask their reco.
