Equine Leg Magic... anyone use it?

Has anyone heard of this or know of anyone using it with any success?

I have never tried it but must say that webpage has my BS meter ringing off the charts.

I’ve never heard of it either, but I can’t wait to see if anyone else chimes in, and if it actually works. It’s quite expensive!

Same here. Seems like just a vitamin/mineral kind of supplement to me.

I heard about this from another poster here. There is a long thread about it on TOB. I know people IRL who are using it. I have talked to the vet who makes it on the phone. Its not really about the vits/mins but moreso the ratio to each other. I have also spoken to people who have used it on themselves and their dogs. So far, those who have used it, even STRONG skeptics like myself, have seen positive results. Its not voodoo or anything but it is all about providing the body the nutrition it needs in the right ratios. I dunno… I still havent ordered it but I am watching all the talk about it and watching my friends horses.

Lady is advertising in a women at my barn’s magazine so sent her a free sample that we are trying on a horse. I seriously doubt it works its just vit/mins, but we will see.

I’ve tried it. IMHO its not worth the money. Did nothing for my horse. He ate it, but had to cover it with molasses. Isnt appetizing to the horse at all. Its got the consistency of fine gravel…A waste of money. I wouldn’t bother.:frowning:

what condition were you using it for?

Check out the Looooong thread on it on the Other BB( UDBB). Lots of opinions and first hand statements from people who have tried it. Sounds like snake oil to me, but these people are “seeing” results.

Thanks, but I’m not up on the jargon, could you spell out UDBB? Thanks.

Www. ultimatedressage.com. ( Sorry). Check under the veterinary topic.

Unless you can control all other dietary sources of the components of the stuff, which is well night impossible, the ratios are not consistent, though.

I don’t know anything about this. perhpas it provides some horses with vit/mins they need. Don’t know.

I’m curious where people are getting that the founder is a vet. I don’t see it on the website . The “dr” is from a PhD in nutrition or philosophy, I think? perhaps I missed the DVM mention or is there a different designation in the US?

I’m simply in awe that it can treat straight pasterns!

Well I think it depends on the age of the horse and the cause of the affliction. With a weanling, as with club feet, this can be tendon related and related to nutrition so i would not say it is impossible to affect this with feed changes (depending on cause and age)

It fixes hoof wall cracks and bone chips too?

well, it is “magic” after all

I purchased 4 weeks ago. My ol man has been blowing abscesses through his coronary band since coming back to me and he has arthritis. Before ELM he was on previcoxx for the arthritis but I wanted to try other things and get him off the script which was only helping a little. Long story short he has been on ELM and STP for four weeks and his slow motion painful walk has gotten a bit faster and he is obviously relieved. His movement is more fluid. He tolerates the taste in his senior feed twice a day. I will keep him on it until I save up for xrays and see if there is anything else that is called for.Adding that his improvement may have been due to other things. When he stopped blowing abscesses naturally he felt better. Not sure if the ELM was instrumental in that. We didn’t get another when we ran out and he has continually improved in fluid movement

Googled this. Looks like a basic mineral supplement but doesn’t actually give the amounts on line. If your horse was nutrition deficient, yes any mineral supplement would give him a health boost.

I am bemused that they say “not a replacement for a mineral supplement fed free choice.” Those things are just not a good idea for horses.

I don’t see anything here beyond a basic supplement, other than the inflated claims to cure every single thing in the world.
