Equine Omega Complete

Has anyone tried this?? It looks like a lot of people seem to like it on Facebook…an omega 3/6 fatty acid supplement…it’s pretty pricey…$60 for a gallon -which is a 1 month supply for 1 horse…is it worth the price tag ?? For comparison…Cocasoya is around $20/gallon

I haven’t tried every other supplement out there to be able to know exactly how it compares, but I was able to try EOC for a month and the horses loved it and looked fantastic while they were on it.

Yes, I have tried it and loved it. The price tag really isn’t that bad when you look at it as a complete supplement, aka you don’t have to have additional joint, digestive, hoof and recovery supplements in your horses diet, this has all they need. I personally use it on all my horses from show horses to broodmares and babies and have seen excellent results with it. I’ll try and attach the picture of my weanling not on it and then as a yearling and 2 year old on it. The other great thing is it doesn’t make them hot! Please let me know if you have any other questions or what to see any other results. There are also a lot of testimonials as well.

I would never spend $2 a day on a product unless it had an ingredient list and guaranteed analysis. OP, what are you trying to accomplish with this product?

If it’s simply adding an Omega 3/6 supplement, flax seed is much much cheaper, at $1 a pound for a 25 pound bag of stabilized ground flax from Triple Crown, if feeding 1/2 cup a day, I think it’s about 1/4 pound, so about 25 cents a day. I also feed MSM, which is also inexpensive and has anti inflammatory properties.

I will forever be a CocoSoya fan! They have the right ratios of Omegas for the horse’s to get the maximum benefit. They have also come out with the Equi-Omega 4:1 which is a powder/meal form of the oil! Great for my picky one who doesn’t like liquid supplements!

Most of the information re omegas is the result of studies done on people, then applying that information to horses. There has been little scientific research done on horses to prove/disprove the desired ratios and benefits to horses.

LOL, my fridge has coconut milk and flax oil and kale due to my stepdaughter who is on a health kick. Better than beer I guess (she is over 21). Me personally, I just pop a couple gummy vitamins every day. Cheap and tasty.

They are in the process of releasing the guaranteed analysis. The ingredients are listed on the bottle. It’s all natural and does so much more then just adds shine to your horses coat. The issue with just adding omegas is how… It’s been scientifically proven that the best and tightest ratios of omegas come from fresh deep water caught fish. Equine Omega Complete has the most (human grade) fish oil in their product, more then any other product that is available on the market. It has also been scientifically noted that the oil is actually better for horses to digest then say flax and fish oil has anti-inflammatory properties. Other ratios and other methods of gaining omegas can actually increase inflamation. Just think… All those fish oil pills for people are oils in tablets making it easier to take, but at the end of the day desolves into the best form… The oil. Just a thought… Many people spend $50 or more a month on just joint supplements… I can just feed this and not have joint, digestive, and some other “omega” product to give them a pretty coat.

Please see that scientific proof… Not human proof carried over.

I am contemplating this supplement and wondering if they have released the guaranteed analysis yet… I am a stickler for knowing what is in supplements and their description on the website is vague.

16 horses who already have arthritis - needs to be replicated with a larger sample, no causal relationship established and notes that additional research is recommended.

“Equine Omega Complete is comprised of all human grade ingredients. We utilize organic mechanically expelled soybean oil (not chemically extracted), all essential amino acids and have the tightest ratio of Omega 3’s to Omega 6’s of ANY product on the market today.”

What does “organic mechanically expelled?” Sounds like a bowel movement to me. I’m not saying that there are not horses who may benefit from this product, but if you have a horse who is already on a good feeding program, you should not need it. If your horse has a specific issue, there may be a less expensive way to address the issue.

When I fed fish oil, I just fed straight up fish oil. You can find it for around the same price without all the other stuff added. I really liked the brand that I used at the time, but it appears they have since gone out of business (Rohan)

Right now I’m actually just popping a couple of my own fish oil capsules into my horse’s food, along with flax. And honestly, I don’t know if it really does anything besides make them really shiny.
