Just received an email from Farmvet that Equioxx tablets are now available. Finally! http://shop.farmvet.com/Pharmacy/Horse_Pharmacy/Equioxx-Tablets
Sorry duplicate thread! Still a good thing.
Nice!! So, Previcox is out of favor now?? lol
It looks like literally this exact product with a different label on the container…

Ha. You think the horse version is still liver flavored?
Seems like a better price- I got 30 tabs of Previcox for $80 online, and the Equioxx tabs are 60 count for $80.

Guessing you got 30 tabs of the 227 mg strength, not the 57?

They look exactly the same…I wondered that too!
If anyone makes the switch and finds them more effective (why that might be, I’ve no idea), please let us know. I’m sticking with Previcox as long as possible because these are definitely more expensive. My gelding would need two per day, so $80 per month instead of $34 or so per month. I’m already paying for Prascend. If the Previcox option goes away I’ll switch to bute.

More like equine DVMS can now dispense the tablets without violating FDA regulations, because these are labelled for horses.
If someone actually tries these, can you please come back and tell us if you see any difference in your horse between previcox and this? I can’t imagine you would since its the same drug?

These price out the same as the dog previcox at the same dose.
The bigger dose quartered is cheaper

Equine 57 mg[/QUOTE]
No, the Previcox was 30 count of the 57mg tabs through my vet’s online pharmacy. I like the Farmvet price for 60 count tabs of Equioxx though.
Definitely curious to gauge if people have any different experiences between Equioxx tabs and Previcox…
ETA: Nevermind- it was 60 count for both so the prices are comparative.
It’s the same active ingredient in the same dose delivered the same way. I can’t see why there would be a difference

Really? I wonder why so much difference in price for the smaller pill vs. the larger.
Sigh…I’m sure a way to make us spend more will be developed
original post deleted because I found the answer by visiting the site.

Exactly. But still curious nonetheless.
My only thought is maybe the paste had a different effect than the previcox pill due to the way it is absorbed?

But these are both pills. If the paste acted differently why would the manufacturer offer the same med, in the same dose, now in pill format?!
