I was wondering what everyone thought of the Equipedic saddle pads - they’ve come up a couple of times in my saddle pad search and I know nothing about them.
I already have a Skito pad and they look pretty similar.

IMO the inserts are very different. I love my Skito pads, I couldn’t get rid of the Equipedic fast enough after just a few rides. The inserts are very “memory foam” like and hold a lot of water/sweat. Which is very hard to clean and then it starts to STINK. I never had this problem with my Skitos; just rinse them off with a hose and hang to dry and they were good. Dry fast and no smell.
I tried the same with the Equipedic, The inserts held so much water they were still wet days and days later. They also seem more fragile to me when wet. (As in, I wasn’t comfortable squeezing the water out too much because I felt the foam could tear easily.)
I agree with @LSMarnell - just not thrilled with Equipedic, esp the inserts and OMG are they hard to get back in once you’ve taken them out. I do use the Equipedic pad with other inserts in it occasionally but not for longer rides. I have a Skito I really and a Grandeur. Plus I just got a new Eco-Gold CoolFit that is super nice
I’ve only used the inserts (inside a Haf pad) and thought the same: very smelly and hard to clean. They are also rock hard in winter, until they warm up, but I didn’t like that. I switched to the Toklat Matrix inserts (and woolback pad) and have been happy.
I did not care for my Equipedic pad. Because of the shape of my horse, my saddle slid around a lot. Had much better luck with a Supracor. Kept my saddle in place better, dispersed heat, and so easy to keep clean.
