Why 4 years and not a permanent ban, I wonder.
Pending the complete decision from CAS, maybe?
noncommittal hmm sound
Same.
Time for Lamaze to pursue another career. The FEI can’t possibly want him around any longer.
Although there are permanently banned people who have long maintained a career in show horses, even though they are not allowed on a show grounds.
On the flippant side, if he DOES truly have GBM, 4yrs should be basically a lifetime ban…
But yes, seems a random number and odd it’s not permanent or permanent pending review.
If he really had GBM he’d be dead by now!
The four year ban does seem a bit lenient IMO.
He’d have been dead a long time ago if he actually had GBM tbh.
Oh I know. I sadly really know.
Honestly, what little respect I have for the FEI is dwindling!
It’s always those damned text messages that come back to haunt someone, isn’t it?
In many different bad situations!
The FEI banned Andrew Kocher for 10 years for shocking horses with electrical current through his spurs.
Apparently the FEI “commitment to horse welfare” doesn’t conclude that a lifetime ban in Kocher’s case is warranted. At this point in time, with all of the bad behavior and horse abuse that has been happening under the purview of the FEI, a lifetime ban doesn’t seem to be in the cards, no matter how egregious the rule violation.
Money, and the fear of losing money… It’s gross.
I think that’s exactly what happened. I was trying to look up what happened with his previous drug tests in 1996 and 2000 and I think he got exonerated for the one in 2000? He only appears to have served a 7 month suspension for the 1996 violation from what I found (originally 4 years but shortened because it wasn’t intended for performance enhancement or something).
If you’ve had three violations you are eligible to receive a lifetime ban, but if he got exonerated one of those violations he might only be sitting on two. I also imagine he’d definitely appeal a lifetime ban, but probably has little recourse for the automatic 4 years for missing a drug test.
He is a repeat offender, just ban him for life at this point. He’s an embarrassment.
Can someone please explain the purpose of lying about having a brain disorder?
He had so many lawsuits against him - he tried to delay court cases and not show up for court by saying he had cancer -
It’s interesting to note that his official place of residence is Belgium where there is actually a law in Belgium that if someone claims they are sick you can legally not look into it - privacy laws - a lot of his lawsuits were actually dropped because he got a huge press storm about having cancer - and then continued to compete and was painted as a huge hero in the press - very easy to look up - what’s interesting now is to go and look back and loook at those pictures ( his head is bald but he has facial hair - and eyebrows - if you were undergoing chemo you would not have facial hair at all ) if you go back and read or watch what he has said there are so so many inconsistencies and anyone with a critical outlook can see it was all a sham - ESPECIALLY those who have had cancer or a family member who has suffered .
In court eric could not provide one document from a doctor or hospital ( he claims he was "protecting the doctors that cured his glioblastoma( why would they need to be protected if they cured the incurable??) furthermore - if he did at one point really have a brain tumour I think it would be quite easy to just show a scan from the hospital with his name in the corner- and block out your doctors name - but alas we live in an age of meta data - and faking these things and any sort of documents or paperwork just don’t hold up in court when you have people double checking what you’ve submitted and not just going off what you say .
Another point I want to include is - Eric would be on the cover of medical journals if he was competing and winning in spruce meadows with the most horrific type of cancer one can get . He wouldn’t just be covered by horseshow media outlets- the fact that people believed him- proves just how strong his fan base was . I mean look even now he still has supporters - but I suppose even bad guys in jail get love letters and can get married behind bars.
It’s interesting to note that journalists so bought into Lamaze stories at face value that there are articles written about his microchip kidneys - simply google search - that technology doesn’t even exist yet . A man that is so worshiped by all and lived a life of so many lies - I am a true believer that if you tell a lie so many times even you begin to believe that it is true .
This is true.
When I went through my first chemo regimen, I lost ALL my hair - eyebrows and eyelashes included. I kept on having issues getting dust and things in my eyes.
I got a mild cold partway through and developed a runny nose, and it just ran and ran and I ahead trouble dealing with it, because I had even lost the tiny nose hairs I didn’t even know I had on the inside of my nostrils.
It was insane.
I almost posted this earlier on the other thread - the fact that he still had visible stubble In photos was highly suspicious to me… but I thought I would stop beating a dead horse.
What a whacko.
