Well if that doesn’t corroborate internet conspiracy theories I don’t know what does…

I was thinking the exact same thing. Way to cut out the people preforming the best.

And promote the people who were (allegedly or speculatively) unhappy.

Was Will Coleman the “director of sport” before now, or is that a new title?

The director of sport is Will Connell, not Coleman. Will Coleman is just on the task force.

Thanks. I misread.

I wonder who will be the United States Olympic committee representative?

This whole thing seems weird.

“Time is of the essence; therefore, the task force meetings will begin shortly, and as concepts are developed, they will be socialized with relevant eventing constituencies for input,” the statement continued.

Can a concept be “socialized”? Is this how business people actually speak in this day and age?

Unfortunately yes, this seems to be a thing. I recently encountered this word used in this way while doing a deal with a large and very corporate organization in my area.

How so? It seems like a weird combination to me, but not biased one way or another.

If they had used the word “shared” instead of “socialized” they wouldn’t sound so ridiculous.
Sorry for the derail.

If you subscribe to the “OCs v. Everyone else” theory (not saying I do), you have a whole lot of representation on the task force from the OC camp… especially considering most of the current high performance riders are not part of that camp.

“Everyone else” is represented by mainly owners.

To be fair, I’m just saying that’s one possible interpretation. I think this decision is far more complicated that what we see from the outside. But I just thought it was interesting that the task force selection certainly didn’t kill the rumors.

Must be a new exciting corporate buzzword to show how dedicated they are to reaching out to stakeholders, thinking outside the box and leveling up the team’s culture in these unprecedented times

Along with their ability to butcher the English language. That’s always impressive.

Am I correct that one of the people is an owner?

Very interested in what they come up with. Should be interesting.

I actually like the fact there is an owner on the team. Without them, the sport would be no where. I don’t have any knowledge other than reading. From the speculation, it just seems like it is a one sided group.

Shared conveys one way communication, while socialized conveys discussed. It’s stupid corporate speak imo.

Ten people is too many on a committee that needs to make quick decisions. Three or four makes more
practical sense.

Perhaps there is a need for 10 individuals to effectively socialize their output?

As I’ve said before, it’s my opinion that OCET vs. the World is not a very accurate depiction of things. Even if it were exactly that way, though, only maybe 4 of the 10 people on this committee could be considered camp OCET, if you stretch for it.

Yes — Christine Turner owns at least two of Boyd’s horses, Tsetserleg (you’ll get it if i call him Sexylegs) and On Cue.
