Euro Cut/"Eventing" Cut Saddle Pads

Euro cut, close contact shaped, semi-shaped, eventing profile. Different names for the shape of pad that is CC contour in front, but then cut up a bit at the back, rather than cut straight across like a typical square pad.

Ogilvy makes this cut, BR has had a couple in the past, and Eskadron came out with one last winter in their Heritage collection.

But are there other brands that make a similarly shaped pad, that maybe have another name for the shape?

This is my favourite shape for my pony, because they are big enough for my 17.5" saddle and 18.25" (from edge of sheepskin to edge of sheepskin) Thinline Trifecta halfpad, but don’t swallow his entire barrel like a lot of square pads do.

The Eskadron pad is a little bigger in the flap area than the BR pads, which is great because my new saddle is more of an AP so has a bit of a longer/straighter flap than my old CC, but I dislike the fleece wither bit, especially since I pair it with a sheepskin edged halfpad.

Has anyone seen the Ogilvy eventing pad in person? The square pads are massive, but I really love the quality and the nonslipness of them. I wonder if the eventing cut is any shorter in the back corner area than the baby pads, or if they’re like baby pad length in bavk and profile pad length in front.

Ogilvy makes beautiful pads. The material they use is wonderful, as is the shape and cut. They are also sized if you order directly from them, allowing you to buy smaller or larger pads as needed.

Lemieux also makes euro cut pads that are sized. They have a couple of non slip options available, or normal bottoms. Again, they are sized allowing you to buy smaller or larger as it suits you.

Premier Equine and Mattes both make that shape too, and they have versions with the sheepskin built in if you were so inclined. PE calls it a European and Mattes calls it Eurofit.

QHP Also makes a Europad, I have this one and I love it. It doesn’t slip, it’s a bit thicker so nice for the winter.: https://www.qhp.nl/paard/zadels-toebehoren/zadelpads/zadeldek-eldorado.html
and Fleeceworks have a similar style: https://fleeceworks.com/collections/pads-with-purpose/products/pads-with-purpose-easy-care-bamboo-quilted-contour-jumping-pad?variant=17295284404282

Bruno de la Grange have come out with one too.

I have a few of the Ogilvy pads, not sure which baby pads you have but the jump ones are not large at all, but you are saying you use them on a pony? They would be too big but you could contact them about making a smaller size. Attached a pic below, she is 15.3.

oh for a large chunker it would certainly work! I love these pads, by far my fav.

These are my favorite pads for sure. My small horse looks great in them. The fabric is awesome. It is a little hard to tell from the pics, but they are that “XC” cut back shape.

Haha. Ogilvy dressage baby pads are just barely big enough for my 18 inch saddle and bulky mare!

I’m out of town at the moment, but I own an Ogilvy XC, jump profile and baby pad - I will take a photo comparing sides when I get home this weekend!

ECP also makes that kind of pad. Riding Warehouse carries them.

Weatherbeeta makes them, as does Professional Choice. Both are affordable.

Scribbler, you can buy them in sizes from the website. My guys are giant so I get the large size. Plenty of space and avoid the postage stamp look. The regular size is 25 x 22 and the large is 26 x 22 1/2. I find these do not shrink so that is plenty for my 18” saddle

Le mieux also makes them…
