I heard a sound bite from the EquiRatings podcast in which they speculated that Lordships Graffalo will not be at Burghley this year to defend his title, due to the European Eventing Championship at Blenheim a few weeks later. Does Blenheim still get a full field of other entrants who are not competing for a team in the championship? In other words, is the championship a competition within a larger competition? If so, is everything run over the same course? Sorry if these are stupid questions. And will this in effect “soften” the field for Burghley? Thanks!
