Event Horse Appreciation- Who Are Your Favorites?

Watching Ocala and just watched Sparrow’s Nio charge around and OMG do I love that horse. His expression, his scope, general attitude about life just all make me want to just take him home with me.

I also have to say how much I love Doug Payne’s ride Baymax. I just love his name and he looks so cool. Can’t wait to see what that one does in the future.

Who are your favorite event horses, both past and present? If you could fill your barn, who would you pick?

Just a few of the oldies that I loved:
Priceless
Kibah Tic Toc
Darien Powers
Monaghan (he looked like an amateur’s ride)
Murphy Himself (NOT for an amateur!)

A current horse: Classic Moet

Murphy Himself
Bally Cor
Wideawake

He’s little too! I have a soft spot for the little ones who are talented enough to keep up with the bigger horses.

Master Craftsman - boy would I love to see him tackle todays courses!

I love Sparrows Niro!

I’m also slightly obsessed with Paddy the Caddy at the moment. :love-struck:

Across the pond, for some reason, I just fell in love with Reve du Rouet.

Yes! The little ones with all the heart are just the best. I’m also remembering another one that I would totally take home with me was Kilrodan Abbott. I seem to remember a commentator at Rolex one year saying that he’s the type of horse you could put your kids on.

Jacob Two Two was my original favorite. Since then Ballynoe Castle RM and La Biosthetique Sam. It’s fun to watch any horse that has a lot of try and they were all just such good do-ers.

I have a 2yo by Mighty Magic so I spend a lot of time these days stalking the young MM offspring that are coming up into the upper levels. Will Faudree has two (Michel 233 at 4L and Mama’s Magic Way at 3L) and Maya Black has two (Miks Master C at 3L and Maks Mojo C at 2L).

Euro prince for the Irish. Almost too bold but I love watching him.

I also just love vermiculus. He has just the cutest face. I just want lauren to be able to ride him faster so they can win something.

I remember watching Windfall II power around Fair Hill year ago (am I wrong or was that a Pan Am event?) and he immediately caught my eye. So handsome and such presence! It’s great to see his offspring succeeding.

I also love Sparrow’s Nio and, on the topic of small horses, really loved Teddy O’Connor. They have such spunk and enthusiasm, they gleefully attack every jump!

If I could ride just one going horse, it would have to be Toledo de Kerser. That horse is amazing!

I’m with you on that one!

Faerie Dianimo (Jonelle Price)
Donner (Lynn S)
Allstar B (Ros Canter)

And pretty much all of the horses @beowulf listed. I think I was the rare person who actually enjoyed watching FischerRocana more than Sam with Jung.

Bittersweet memory, but I did love Boyd Martin’s ride Crackerjack.

A bit flighty, but Tim Price’s Bango is just a cute horse.

My most recent horse envy was an absolutely stunning grey, whose name and rider I completely forget - female, European, possibly Swedish. Was at WEG and I think Bramham. I’ve had to pick my jaw up both times. Will toddle off and find it …
