Poor pony. Poor kid. What a horrible thing to do.
How awful. I canāt imagine what it was like for that poor child to witness that. I hope the pony has recovered.
This is one of the problems of how to speak up to a clinician, when the rider doesnāt agree with what is happening. But that poor little girl at her age could not have taken control of this situation.
In spite of his claim that heās never done anything like that before, I sort of donāt believe that a man of 56 abuses a pony or horse so severely for the first time ever in his life.
I too do not believe that is how one debuts their abusive actions.
:no::no::no: Too horrible! So sad for the child to have witnessed that. Itās good the parent had the presence of mind to document it so a formal complaint could be made.
I highly doubt itās the first time heās beaten a pony. First time heās been caught maybe.
Jeez. Thatās pretty bad. āFirst timeāĀ I wonder.
Poor kid, poor pony.
Not the first time Iāve seen or heard of that happening in a lesson or a clinic. It always makes me sad
Jesus, thatās worse than I was picturing. The raked spur marks are as bad, or worse than the whip welts.
Poor pony
āI felt very sad after reading the complaintā¦.ā ā[T]his has never happened to me before.ā āThis will never happen to me againā.
This didnāt happen to him, he happened to the pony. That poor thing. SMH
The only thing about this accident that has never happened before is it has not been caught on video and it has not been reported. Absolutely disgusting. Poor pony and poor kid, I hope they can both mentally recover from that.
Horrid behaviour. What about questioning why the pony wouldnāt jump, like a pain issue instead of beating the snot out of it.
Exactly. And thatās what he is sorry about, that he was caught. Iām glad he was unsuccessful in getting the suspension postponed until after the European Championships too.
His response was NOT in any way an apology. He cited his past record, his career, his horsemanship⦠what an example of how not to acknowledge responsibility.
Donāt forget āthe kid did itā line there either
How horrible, that poor, poor pony. And I agree, that was NOT an apology, and I highly doubt it is the āfirst timeā.
Poor little creature.
Yes. That is almost as despicable as beating the pony in the first place. I hope the poor pony has recovered. How traumatic it would have been for the pony (and the child).
And I hope that the incident is publicized enough that he looses clinic business in future. What a monster.
Have any of you ever broken a whip on a horse?
I certainly havenāt. Not even on a pony.
