Maxime Debost died in a fatal accident on cross country today while competing in the CCI* at Châteaubriant Horse Trials in France. Maxime and Qurt de Montplaisir had a rotational fall at fence 11 on course, and the medical team was unable to revive him at the scene. The horse was uninjured in the fall.

Eventing Nation had a little bit of additional information about the rider and a photograph, for those who are interested. He is survived by his partner and his young son. Just tragic.
