I feel like she’s playing with fire (no pun intended) because if they evaluate her as unable to handle things in her life, the FEI might take a hard look at that and make her sit out for a bit.
It’s such a trivial thing to fix. Why would you not just pick up the phone and get somebody to install alarms and extinguishers ? The article was dated early April.

@Amberley I made my DH watch it–he is (was) a big league CPA, CFO etc. I asked him if there was any way he could…we’ll, u know! The coolest part of the whole incident was the man who bought all her trophies from 20 years of winning everything the AQHA offered—he bought the trophies at the dispersal sale for very little, then has spent years and his own money tracking down the second place winners and sending each the trophy that person would have won if Rita hadn’t.

This is an article about someone who bought hundreds of the trophies at the auction. Sounds as though she sold them.

I think the gist is the same – she was trying to give first dibs to certain people, if they wanted to purchase them, before selling them to others.
