Eventing barn/trainer in Houston, TX?

So, I’m moving from Northern Virginia to the Houston area at the end of the summer, and I’m looking for some trainer recommendations out there. I won’t have a truck/trailer for the foreseeable future, so I’d like to be somewhere that a trainer can come to me or where a trainer is based already. I currently compete at Training level, and I’m hoping for a trainer advanced enough to help me develop from there.

I’m also hoping for a trainer that trailers students to/from shows, since I know they tend to be much longer hauls out there than I’m used to here.

Also, if anyone has farrier/vet recommendations, I’m interested in those as well! :winkgrin:

There is not a lot of eventing close around Houston … frankly, the climate is not conducive for high-intensity activity for much of the year around summer. But there is some!

Closest trainer may be Kristy Limon in Plantersville

Janet Marden in Bryan, TX has an eventing barn and training facilities, also she is a DVM and stands the ISH stallion Flagmount Freedom

The area is horse-crazy, there are many, many boarding barns of all kinds in the Houston area. Dressage is also located close in.

To the west, Katy, TX also has the Great SW Equestrian Center.

Blue Ribbon Meadows

Blue Ribbon Meadows is in Katy, closer to most than Kristy Limon’s place, and definitely closer than Pine Hill.

Kristy hosted a Buck Davidson clinic over a month or so ago. I think it was held at Pine Hill?

Thank you! As of right now, it looks like we’ll be moving to the Cypress area, so Katy is looking like a good bet. I’ll definitely be looking into several of these options though!
