Eventing barns/boarding in Summerfield/Ocala

Hi,

I recently accepted a job at an equine practice in Summerfield and will be relocating from the Central Florida area. I have an 18 year old ex-Novice level event horse that I still enjoy pretending to train on that I want to move with me. I have been taking lessons at Rocking Horse with Marcea Funk. Any ideas of places or people that I should contact about boarding or just generally getting involved in the eventing community would be greatly appreciated. I’m looking to network to find some riding opportunities (I know there must be some in Ocala!) as well since my horse is more or less retired.

Any suggestions welcome and I will look into them!

I too ride with Marcea! You know, you are about the same distance from Sanford to RH as you will be in Summerfield. I would continue with Marcea. Also, Equiventures is looking for volunteers for their first 3*** in November. Volunteering is always a great way to be involved and you will be close to RH, Florida Horse Park, Exmoor and so many more. Great things are coming for eventers in the Ocala area and it is a great time to get involved! As for boarding, there are several sites on FB…Central Fla Horse Boarding and there are several Ocala sites. You will have more options than you have now in Sanford! ( I live in Winter Park and have to drive to Sorrento where I board my guy.)

Thanks Lori T!! Yes, I was planning to continue with Marcea, but I didn’t realize it was about equi-distant being in Summerfield - yay! And yes, way more options here for boarding. I, too, was boarding in Sorrento ! I am planning on continuing to work as many of the Rocking Horse HTs as I can, and will definitely look into all of those volunteering avenues. Thanks!
