Eventing barns/trainers in St. Louis, MO?

Hi! I’m currently located in Austin, TX with a fantastic eventing trainer and show barn. I’ve been googling comparable barns in St. Louis but I’m having difficulty finding many options. I might be moving there within the next year or so and want to have an idea of what I can expect.

I don’t have a trailer, so ideally I need a boarding facility with a trainer onsite. If you know of any dressage/non-snooty hunterjumper barns and trainers in the St. Louis area, that information would be great too  I came from the hunter/jumper world and would prefer not to go back, but I’m thinking my options might be limited.

Thank you so so much!

Capital Farms - Ellen Sadler. She goes to a lot of the Area 4 events.

A lot of the people who organize/run Queeny Park (www.qpee.org), the Recognized HT in the St. Louis area, are also members of Bridlespur Hunt (on FB). They’re a very friendly bunch. BTW St. Louis will be hosting the Area IV Annual Meeting this year on March 19th, 2016.

Devinwood Farms- Michelle Booker. It’s primarily hj and dressage, but without the drama those usually entail. Michelle is a blast, and did wonders for me. (I joke that the biggest endorsement I could give her is the fact that I got 3rd in an equitation class, lol).
I’m sadly displaced to Texas for work for the foreseeable future, but if I ever get back home, I’ll definitely return to DF.

As for non-snooty HJ farms, I have a fox hunting friend that lessons with Katana at Kee West and really enjoys it. She has no plans to show at this time.

The Bridlespur Hunt is very welcoming. It’s been awhile since I lived there but two of the members I know of who event own their own farms and have limited boarding.

PM Painted Wings, she events in St Louis and is active on this board.

Thank you all so much for the insight!

Where are you in Texas? I ride with Lisa Bauman in Austin

I’m in Sherman, about an hour north of Dallas. It’s pretty much BFE, lol. I’m here for work, so it may be temporary, but I’d love to find somewhere to ride while I’m here. Lord knows I can’t afford to get any more rusty!

I was a hunter/jumper when I lived in the Dallas area so my knowledge isn’t based on personal experience, but I’ve heard great things about both Rebecca Brown and Angela Grzywinski! They’re both in the DFW area  There are a ton of eventing trainers up there! Ellen Doughty-Hume and Mike Huber are in that area as well, but Rebecca and Angela would be my first choices. Also Mary D’Arcy!! My trainer LOVES her. She’s brilliant. I’m not sure what facility she’s based out of though.
