Hi! I moved out to Kentucky from CA about three years ago. I am currently horseless but after a hiatus from riding for 3 years I am searching for an eventing barn in Kentucky. I live in Versailles, so the closer to that the better.
I grew up showing hunters and a little bit of jumpers (but my horse was a hunter through and through) so thats what I did growing up. I have brought along my own horses including an OTTB. I worked as a groom at an eventing barn in CA for a year before going back to my “grown-up” job in the medical world, sigh, lol. I was so impressed by the differences between the “A” circuit hunter barns I grew up in and the eventing world. Definitely much more my speed.
I am horseless at the moment and will likely be so for a while, but might be able to lease next year. In the meantime I would like to find a barn that I could lesson at 2 or 3 days a week and possibly show with. Hoping for a friendly/positive barn environment and good quality instructors. I know there are tons around me, but being horseless for the foreseeable future I am a little more limited. What are your recommendations? Anyone to steer clear of (feel free to PM that.)
