Eventing Trainers in MN?

I’ve recently relocated to the northwest side of Minneapolis. Would anyone have suggestions for an eventing trainer, in that area, that would be good with a sensitive Thoroughbred mare. She has not evented previously. Looking for someone that could help her regain her confidence which was damaged with a previous dressage trainer, and hopefully get her through some starter or beginner novice rounds next summer.

Feel free to PM with suggestions of good trainers and anyone to avoid on the west or northwest side of Minneapolis.

Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll check her out.

Where specially are you located at? That will make a difference. Here are a few that come to mind other than Liz are Katie Johnston, Jane Braddock (lives in WI but comes over), Jennifer Shuck. All of these I have worked with or been around and would recommend. Please do go to the Yahoo Group TCCTList and ask. You will get a lot of responses and there are more great trainers up there.

Thanks! I’m looking for the Elk River/Nowthen/Otsego area.

Second Liz Lund, she and I trained with the same dressage trainer, Alison Sader Larson who has sadly moved.

Hi, saw your post . I am in the same boat, new to area, needing a trainer I can work with .Would luv to find a riding buddy to hack/ train with. I am in Nowthen mn. I have a small hobby farm. As far as trainers near me
I was Looking at Julie Stensile in Dayton. PM mme if you want .Good Luck

Oh I forgot about Julie, she is also great.

If I lived in MN I’d train with Liz Lund in a second! She’s great.

The Central States Dressage and Eventing website has business listings that can give you a lot of options: CSDEA.org.

There are a number of talented pros in the area and most have completed the USEA certification training. I train with Jane Braddock, and Jenny Warner is another talented pro - both travel to a number of barns.

Welcome! The CSDEA is planning some winter get together to give the community the chance to meet and greet - join us!

Welcome to the Tundra!
I second posting on the TCCT list (yahoo group), you’ll get a lot of recommendations!
There are quite a few Clinics in the Northeast part of town (around Hugo), you may also try contacting a few of these barns and some cool shows in the Spring/Summer (Otter Creek, etc).
