Sad news about Jet Set.
I have an unrelated question. Why is Lucinda Green ALWAYS talking about mares? Does she like them, dislike them or what? She always seems to note when there is a mare or if this is “the last mare.” I am just curious.

I’m so sorry to hear about Jet Set. I was trying to watch while doing other things - was that the one that sort of stomped on his rider a bit after the fall? I saw him walk/trot away up the course and the rider still laying on the ground where a bunch of people ran over to him (her?). Is the rider okay?

I took her comments to mean she admires them for their loyalty and try. She made a comment while one mare was on course about how a “good mare will go to the ends of the Earth for you.”

I think that was one of the Thai riders. If it’s who I’m thinking of, I heard that horse and rider were both fine.

Yes, the rider that went right under the hooves, was Thai. Horse did a good job of missing the rider as much as possible, and they both walked away from it.
Does anyone know about the jog? When will it happen?
EN says 9:30 a.m. JST / 8:30 p.m. EST on Monday but I’m assuming that means tonight? And then they jump at 5 pm/4 am.

I wondered about what happened to Jet Set. How terrible for the horse, the owners, the rider, and the Swiss team. The nightmare scenario everyone dreads. Rest in peace, big guy!

Hey, can anyone comment of the force that a horse needs to hit a fence to break a pin and then, how much force results in the fence falling as designed? I don’t event and have no idea.
14C was the corner that offered so many problems, right? If that is true, it seems like the frangible pins saved a couple of riders from a bad fall.
