Wish we could see what happened there!
Even the announcers seemed surprised. I wonder if we’ll get footage…
Michael Young is so smooth. What a treat to watch.
According to live scores he has an 11 point penalty. We’ll see if it stands.
Ok from the live scoring it looks like the pin was at 14C?
Last rider home 3.25am uk and I survived!!!
Nighty night ! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Looks like the US is sitting in 5th currently, on 109.00.
1- GBR 78.30
2- AUS 96.20
3- FRA 97.10
4- NZL 104.00
5- USA 109.00
6- GER 114.20
Young’s 11 point penalty seems to stand.
Did I hear they built this course on a landfill?
Was that Jet Set doing a header into the water ?
It looks like his score is Ret not eliminated so probably not? Scary fall though.
I’m surprised some of those pins stood. That one corner pin seemed to fall with very slight hits. Definitely not anything that would have been a fall if the pin didnt come down.
Neat! Thanks for the link
I hope the rider is okay too. Dang I can’t believe Jung had a flag tho may be reversed later
Regarding Jet Set - it happened @ fence 20. A leg injury but horse was walked onto the trailer. That’s all the details I have from someone at the venue (but not at fence 20).
Some thoughts before I head to bed:
- I finally was able to watch an equestrian sport live for the first time during the Games
Watched all live coverage for the most part, minus some instances where my LTE connection was being uncooperative while I was taking a walk earlier tonight.
- I raise a certain finger to CBC for inserting commercials during the live stream
- There were a number of incredible performances, in particular by all three Brits, the two Aussies (Hoy, Rose), and the French rider, Laghouag. The pros made it look so easy, Townend gave a masterclass on how to ride cross country!
- I hope Jet Set is going to be ok, as was that one rider I saw whose horse kind of stepped on them as they fell off.
- As a Canuck, kudos to Colleen Loach and her performance today, she made her country proud
- Cannot say enough about the terrific commentary being provided by John Kyle and Lucinda Green
I am a primarily a fan of show jumping, but I have learned so much and gained a greater appreciation for dressage and three-day-eventing this past week
Day off tomorrow, and then the show jumping portion on early Monday morning! We have the day off from work here in Ontario, so I’ll be able to follow along with you all. (I hope!)
Night all!
Sad news about Jet Set.
Damn.
