Eventing!

I am super bummed that Cathal Daniels had to drop out with Rioghan Rua for IRE. They were a treat to watch at Kentucky a year or two ago, jumped around really nicely despite being a rookie and a young guy at that. Not that I’m not rooting for the US  but my immediate heritage is definitely green!

Thanks!

I haven’t been able to watch all of the tests and although I pay for cable, I seemingly can’t access the games. So I’m working off a 1 week free subcription to Fubo TV and have to cram everthing in before the I cancel on Sunday before 5pm. I just haven’t had time to deal with this but loved watching the dressage. I plan to devote Sat Night to cross county. Hopefully I’ll have things worked out by then.

@J-Lu Where were you trying to access them from? What provider do you have? I’m using the NBC sports network app (smart TV but you could do it on a computer or phone too) with my dad’s Xfinity account to log in, since we don’t have cable.

J Lu- you MUST access it from the computer. go to nbcolympics and select equestrian it will then ask for your carrier, sign in and you are set to go.

Will this link be the same place to find XC live later today in the US?

yes, the NBC link works for everything. But that is for the US only. If you are in Canada, look to EN they have links for world wide viewing

thanks…and XC starts what time Eastern time zone?

XC is 6:45 PM EST!

Perfect. I’m stuck at work doing a double so that fits in nicely. I sure hope the heat/humidity is not a huge factor. I still think of Atlanta and how they lied about their median temperature in Summer by 20 degrees. The riders looked so overheated just after a 3+ minute dressage test. I can’t imagine how hard XC is going to be for horses and riders alike.

It seems at least like everyone learned from Atlanta and prepared very carefully for the heat and humidity in Tokyo, not to mention the abundance of cooling methods being provided for horse and rider, but as this is the most endurance heavy part of the equestrian events, I also hope everything goes smoothly o n that front.

Regarding preparations, I remember hearing that the Brits (I think) apparently were doing gallops at home with wool coolers on to get the horses used to a little more heat.

Finished watching Day 1 morning of eventing dressage last night, and have an hour to go before I finish Day 2. I’m about to head out for beach volleyball, but plan to finish Day 2 when I get back. Were there any horse/riders to watch as part of the Day 1 evening group? I found a stream of Day 1 evening on the French language CBC site

Thanks!

They’re showing the dressage, on NBC Sports now. Tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. (1 August) on NBC Sports is showing the rerun of the Cross Country.

I tried that, @Larksmom and @TwiSedai . I have Uverse and it kept crashing when I clicked on that button from the NBC Olympics website.

I’ll be tuning in at 6:45 tonight on my last night of FuboTV! Tomorrow, I’ll have to inquire about Uverse…

can you call and have a tense convo with tech services? Have you seen anything on fubo?

For anyone not able to watch, EN is on site and does a horse play by play.

I think the link I provided will just replay the first day of dressage. You can probably use this link for today: https://stream.nbcolympics.com/equestrian-eventing-cross-country-team-individual

Napped this afternoon to hopefully stay up very late here in the UK… we’re starting 11:45pm here.
