I believe so.

She doesn’t practice law. People weren’t asked to sign the NDA until after their business transaction. They signed the NDA in exchange for partial payment. That’s how she could move horses from trainer to trainer without word getting out that she was a bad pay.

Ah, it sounds as though she was sort of emulating the business model of another well-known breeder (now mostly retired) who would put her young horses out with various trainers (some fairly well known), then tell them after some months that she had unexpected vet expenses and couldn’t pay them right then. She no doubt had vet expenses associated with breeding and keeping a herd of mares, foals, yearlings, etc., plus a stallion or two, but she was also spending a boatload of money on show fees (breed shows for the youngsters and open shows to promote the stallions). Her schtick was to tell the trainers that if they would keep training the horse and help her market it, she would pay them back for all expenses, plus a hefty commission when it sold. Or she would offer a 50% ownership in the horse and they would swap training services for partial ownership. Sometimes there were strings - breeder had to okay all sales, horse couldn’t be sold for less than $xx,xxx, etc. Or she would just flat GIVE them the horse in exchange for past training bills. And she would then capitalize on it in her marketing program - “Trainer so-and-so loves my breeding program so much they just HAD to have a horse from it.” I don’t know that particular breeder required NDAs though so it sounds like it was an angle that Kidd came up with because of her “attorney” training.

The GoFundMe was organized in 2020. However, she was showing in 2020, and acquiring horses.

I’ve also not seen a GFM where the person said s/he had beaten all their medical issues but just needed a couple more thousands to
whatever?
