Not many, but some.
They are on the third page here and if you keep going you’ll see the G flap Excaliburs:

and are priced around 1k.
Lots of saddles there, not just Excaliburs.

This is a great sale! Convinced me to finally take the full plunge into eventing and buy a dressage saddle after riding with long stirrups in my jump saddles for years. I realized at Event Camp this whole dressage thing would be a lot easier is I wasn’t trying to do it in a saddle built to jump in. That is fine at the trot but it is hard for me to hold it all together at the canter when my saddle wants me to be in a light seat.
I still can’t stomach a super deep seat, and got a great price on a Scandica in my TB’s and my size at 9:05 yesterday morning. Excited to get it here and practice!
Yeah, I wish I knew my draft x’s size in Stubben. I did have him sized last year but I don’t think the fitter did a very good job (29 cm) plus he seems to have gotten thicker between 7 and 8 (stop already!). They have a 32 cm dressage saddle that tempts me, but I’m afraid he may need an xw.
I am a little worried about that because I had to guesstimate a little but I figure at the price if either of us hates it, I can resell and at least get my money back eventually, even if it takes a while! The size I got is popular and it is basically brand new with a few demo rides, even if the saddle is out of fashion (18/31cm), and surely someone else prefers a deal to cushy deep seats! But hopefully it will be the saddle of our dreams and I’ll have it for 30 years. I googled Stubben dressage saddles like crazy for three days when I found out about the sale so I’d know what to buy. I think I read every word ever written about Stubben dressage saddles on COTH and half a dozen other boards…I am a little type A. Which one are you looking at?
According to my exhaustive reading, lots of people have used the 32s on draft cross types successfully if he has a fair amount of cross but others say they need the XWs on WBs/drafts. Many say the 32s work on barrel Arabs and QHs well and that is sort of like a draft cross barrel. But Stubbens are generally reputed to be narrower than other brands esp the older saddles like the Scandica and Tristan. Since they are wool you might be able to have it adjusted with less wool, and wool does settle after the first few months. You would probably be OK in a 32 but no guarantees for sure. And Stubben was clear the sale is final, no returns.
Thanks FT. Maybe I will give them a call…Although the one I have my eye on is brown, so it might be a tough re-sell.
Lol. I thought that it was funny that folks were getting excited about Excalibur (the sheath cleaning product) being on sale! Never mind…
Kcmel, my 31cm Scandica came today-- here are some pics of it on my TB if you want to use them to compare. And a few gratuitous cute pony pics. He is high withered but pretty decently filled out and I think the 31 cm is going to be a great fit.

He seemed to feel great in it, very stretchy at the trot and canter and nice sweat marks after. And I found it much easier to sit the canter in a saddle actually made to sit upright in! Hope that helps if you decide to get one!
I’m living in fantasy land but what saddle would you say has the most forward flap? (Jump saddle, not dressage…)

That was fast! Yes, I’m not sure I want to risk it (although the one I was interested in still seems to be available). My guy fits an XW Wintec, an XW in the Thornhills, and a wide in BC.
Yes, super fast! I was expecting a demo too because the pics weren’t super clear, but it was brand spanking new, never even been girthed up. I think mine was a little cheaper than the other Scandicas because it has short billets maybe, but I don’t care about that, I have mostly long girths anyway and really don’t care for short girth buckles bumping my leg when I am moving the shoulders over on my petite horses. Win win.
I do think if your horse requires an XW in the other saddles, he’d probably need an XW in the Stubben. At least, it is likely enough I would want a return option.

I think either the Zaria or the Excalibur CS or Genesis CS would work. They are all marketed as jumping/XC saddles. The Siegfried too of course but I still hate those based on the horrible rock hard one my mom rode in 25 years ago.

Thanks! I’ve been riding in a Pessoa AO, long flap, and my knee is at the edge of the flap when I’m at XC length. I’m one of those long-femured gals.
Call them and ask – I think the “CS” is supposed to be the forward flap. A long flap is supposed to be “G” but I only see a Siefgried with that. The forward might be enough, not sure. Haven’t seen those models in person. Eventers also seem to use the Zaria based on the website (Boyd Martin rides in a Zaria Optimum, etc.) I have a long femur too, I feel your pain! But I have a Smith Worthington Stoneleigh jump saddle I love.

I have had a couple of the CS’s and found that they put me in a chair seat. For a true forward seat saddle look more at the S models. SG means that it has a extra forward flap.

The key is confusing but here it is: http://stubbennorthamerica.com/saddle-typessizes/
it doesn’t seem to exactly correspond with the above, and in looking at the saddles they don’t seem to apply it totally consistently.
Here is one: http://stubbennorthamerica.com/product/excalibur-sg-2/

Oh you all are tempting me! I don’t have a dressage saddle yet. My guy is a warmblood/american cream draft cross and goes in a wide M. Toulose jump saddle. I think there might be too much a question mark between the 32" and the XW to purchase with no return though.
Fordtraktor, how is the Scandica? The Status looks interesting to me as well and that one is in a 32".
The Scandica is lovely. The leather is gorgeous.
It was marketed toward shorter/petite riders but I read many taller riders like it because it was not restrictive so I thought I would like that too. I am tall and long legged so I bought an 18 to accommodate that. My leg fits fine with my stirrups long though there is no “extra” room and if I put them short like to jump, my knee would go over the flap. I also didn’t want a super long flap because my horse is small and petite, a really long flap might swallow him. This saddle looks big enough on him.
the balance is very good for me. No chair seat or anything, l felt right at home and found it much easier to sit the canter than I have in my jump saddles which is why I wanted to buy a dressage saddle, so I could lengthen my leg and comfortably sit without my saddle tipping me forward. This one encourages me to sit up. Totally different but good feeling and what. I need to make the switch from doing flatwork to actual dressage now that my horse is ready to do a bit more in that regard, a year off the track.
It has a more open seat than many dressage saddles but I don’t prefer the locked in feeling some dressage saddles give and specifically didn’t want that. I am not used to it and find it claustrophobic.
Can’t say enough good things about the quality of the saddle, it is just lovely. It felt broken in immediately, the flap leather is so soft. That is a huge plus to me because I hate breaking in saddles.
Now I just need stirrup leathers, my old ones are way too short!
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other specific questions, happy to give you my two cents. Good luck deciding!
Everything fordtraktor just said!!! I LOVE my Scandica. It feels like home and my TB loves it too. The open seat makes me feel free to “ride” without being set in some position. Zero chair seat and just enough knee roll. I tried so many saddles… as we all do. So happy to find this gem.
