Excellent frozen semen?

I know 4 breeders who bred De Niro and have pregnancies.

Off the top of my head:

Belissimo M
Connery
Damsey
Dannebrog
Dante Weltino
Dauphin
Denario
Fidertanz
Floriscount
Furstenball
Johnson (and has LFG)
Lagoheidor
Negro
Rascalino
Rotspon
Skovens Rafael
Sir Donnerhall I and II

I am not sure I would consider either Floriscount or Furstenball to have “excellent” frozen semen. I have used Floriscount 4 times and only once gotten a pregnancy. It looks poor under the scope too. Furstenball has also been pretty iffy for many people in the last few years. Yes, they both can work but not my idea of excellent semen.

Well maybe you’re just lucky then. I’m not being flippant here. Breeding is a lot about luck.

Furstenball had a markedly better conception rate in 2014 than he had in previous years. Maybe they changed something. I personally know 8 breeders who got pregnancies on first cycle, so it can’t be all that bad.

Floriscount hovers between 50-60% on every year. He’s not rocket fuel, very few stallions are, but he’s also not horrible, especially if you have a good vet.

People might say the same about De Niro semen (so I would not call his frozen semen supersonic) and yet I personally know 4 pregnancies achieved with first cycle inseminations, while last year I know of people who couldn’t get the semen to move past go no matter what they did.

I haven’t said that either Floriscount or Furstenball have “horrible” frozen semen… I said that I wouldn’t consider either to have excellent frozen semen. The OP asked which stallions have excellent frozen semen and in my opinion, neither of these stallions fit that bill (as much as I love both of them).

^^agree… OP asked for recommendations on “rocket fuel” type frozen. The Rotspon’s of the frozen world.
