That is a great idea. Could even put an upright cat scratching post in the middle, not for the cat, but for male dogs to pee against.
These kinds of ideas are greatly needed for dogs that live primarily inside, IMO. For some reason we have indoor relief stations for every species living in the house with us, including us, except the dog. Even when conditions outside are some we ourselves don’t want to experience.
