Exercises for a better canter seat?

I can definitely tell you that one leg is longer than the other. Like 1-1.5" longer. And I do have bad hips… Although I did put my hand on my hip while it was hurting and dicovered that it was subluxed. That would explain why it hurt so much… oh, the joys of hypermobility .[/QUOTE]

OK, you win for bad hips

But hey, at least you’ve discovered the source of the pain? I’m seconding my own advice for you to employ the services of a good massage therapist. You are going to need some work on those big muscles while they get used to their new positioning in the saddle. It should get better, though!

Yay? One of my doctors forbade massage of any kind anywhere, so I’m stuck doing PT at home. Either that or I can get the ligaments in my hips replaced… yah right .

Sorry- did not read the replies- but quickest way to a better canter seat or any seat is lunge or longe lessons (whatever spelling you like) with a decent trainer.

No reins, no stirrups. Boot camp.

yes. The old fashioned way
