Exercises with ground poles

Anyone know of any fun exercises that can be done with ground poles? Thanks!

I have a collection here: Pinterest Page

The book “101 Jumping Exercises” has a ton of fun stuff, both ground poles and with jumps, but you could do the ones with jumps as poles instead.

One of my favourite, but simple, pole exercises is a fan of 5 poles on a circle, set so the middle of the poles is a trot step. I ride the circle at a working trot through the middle of the poles, then spiral out and lengthen the stirde. shorten back to the middle, then shorten more to spiral in to the inside poles.

You can do a similar exercise with just four poles in a cross, I just happen to prefer the fanned poles.

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming!

I like to set up four poles at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock on a 20m circle. Try riding over the centre of each pole on the cricle. It’s harder than it looks! Then try the outside end of the poles for a larger circle, then the inside end for a smaller one.

You can also do a clover leaf pattern over the poles, by doing a 10m circle over each pole turning away from the middle of the larger circle.

You can also create two “clocks” that share a 6 and 12 o’clock pole and create a figure eight that can also be used for serpentines.
