Experience with German Horse Center?

Hi there, I am new to this forum and would love any input regarding your experience with purchasing a horse from the German Horse Center. Am considering importing a hunter/jumper. Thank you so much!

Bumping. I’d love to hear about anyone’s experience too. Thanks!

They are clients of ours. Prior to accepting their listing I contacted another of our clients that had bought from them and they had nothing but good things to say. They’ve been with us a couple years now, have had no bad feedback and several of the horses are over here now. If you lack your own agent connections in Europe I feel they are a really sound way to go; they at least have a very public presence that they care deeply about, which is more than I can say for certain singular agents that have been known to take trusting Americans for a ride…

They have been extremely (and refreshingly) professional in all of our dealings.

I have the other side of the coin to share. I had a very, very poor experience. We bought a horse as a “safe amateur horse” for a lady coming back from major ankle surgeries (ie replacement). We were very clear and explicit about needing an honest horse for this person. Trainer had imported from them before (1 other horse) so we used them again - agent Stefan Kreutz. The horse came and was literally the spookiest animal we’d ever seen. Scared of his own shadow, constantly spooking (over and over again) at cones and poles. Was a very dirty stopper. We tried everything - sending the horse to another trainer that rode for Rich Fellers and George Morris, went back to the beginning, etc. After contacting Stefan, his reply was to take the horse off his HorseLogic supplement…seriously. He said that’s why he was so anxious. He also said he thought the horse had lost his joy because he was a 1.30 horse (a couple of times in Europe) doing the 1.10s in America (which they sold him exactly for)…Honestly, the feedback was so appalling that I couldn’t believe it was a horse person speaking to me. They refused to take the horse back (I offered to ship him back at my own expense of course), gave no other options, and were so awful to deal with. I am more than happy to share all communication I have (email chains etc). because it was such a ghastly and unprofessional experience.
