Loved her too!
This Lea colt is awfully handsome.
All I gotta say is some seriously drool-worthy horseflesh
Where did I put that piggy bank
It must be hiding with mine
I keep bidding from my chair or here at home, but the auctioneer never sees me. So he never takes my bid.
I haven’t gone through all my favorites to see how they’ve sold yet. I’m not the greatest “multitasker”.
It seemed that most of the reserves were reasonable. I can’t blame the seller of that first Liam’s Map filly for not letting her go for 245K. She was really nice.
Honor Code seems to get much like himself.
Tickled pink to see Shriek’s filly looking so well, and so well received.
I would’ve taken Hip 84 home in a heartbeat
Thank you skydy!
nope changed my mind, hip 188 needs to come home to me
Interesting to me to see that of the 8 top prices, 7 were fillies
I know that racing at this level/quality of sale is big business but I’m still sitting in my chair wondering what it must feel like to have $1.2M to spend on a horse that has only seen the track in pictures (figuratively anyway)
Years ago, I was at Keeneland during one of the opening sessions, talking with friends whose employer had just sold a colt for $2 million. They were hoping for around $600k so you can imagine the excitement around their consignment after that one sold. One of them commented, “it’s a different kind of money, it’s not the same kind of money we use to buy groceries or pay the rent.”
There are some nice ones to be sold tonight!
I was looking at my favorites from last night. They sold from 200K to 1.2M. and 2 RNA.
I only picked one of the M+ horses (as per usual).
Bobby Flay does have a fondness for Tapit fillies…
Lovely Honor Code colt RNA at 335K
Another of my favorites; Bernardini filly RNA at 395K
Uncle Mo colt!
“Good year for Violence”.
I could have spent my Monopoly money well on the Verrazano filly that went for 150K. She was one of my favorites, I really liked her.
I like the Honor Codes. I’d not put a large mare to him if I was a breeder, most of his get in this sale are pretty stout.
I think we’re going to see some nice 2 year olds by Verrazano this year.
#241 Honor Code .Wow!
Honor Code has certainly stamped his foals. Whether that will translate on the track remains to be seen. Buyers certainly liked them, as did several hunter jumper riders I ran into tonight at the sale.
