Sorry but not sorry. Somebody just dumped another tiny kitten out by the road at my house. I hear it crying and will go see about it when I get my other animals cared for. I cannot absorb 7 cats and take care of them properly. I know people on this BB are responsible so I am preaching to the choir. All you people in blue states that are whining about having to pay licensing or whatever fees for your pets - do you really want to live like you are in a red state amid this irresponsibility? Sorry to be political but I am overwhelmed at the moment. I need to get my truck towed and now this!!!

Can you remind me what state or province you are in? I’m part of a TNR program and may be able to network or help find someone able to help you get this little kitty a soft landing.

Hey, all my cats have been stray/dumped, too. I get it. I didn’t understand the political comment, though.

I hope you find one or two of these a good new home.

Poor little creature. Some people are so callous. How was it supposed to survive?

Hope you can find it and get it to people that will love it.

and oh yuck about your truck.

I am in central Alabama. There are no animal cruelty laws here that have teeth and dumping little kittens and puppies is a thing here. This isn’t about me - all the rescues are slammed with found kittens and puppies right now. In spite of low cost/ no cost spay neuter programs. It’s the culture.

I have not seen it yet but it was crying by the fence that is overgrown in vines and weeds. I am fixing to drive my car down there with some food because I think it is on the other side of the fence - the road side. The fence is diamond mesh that goes to the ground although there is probably a low spot it could fit through. Although it may not have found a way through and I don’t know if it is big enough the scale the fence. Probably could if motivated. I am pretty sure it was recently dumped because I have not heard anything crying out there. But if it is like the other kitten, it might not know anything besides nursing a mother cat and food might be an acquired taste.

And little Muffin Top is doing fine these days. She is a star with the litter box and says she wants to be an indoor cat. Missy is heartbroken that Muffin has moved in and usurped her from the baby kitten throne. Pet Vet is coming to TSC the end of the month and I will get her kitten shots. I think she needs to get a little bigger before she gets spayed and will need a rabies shot which Pet Vet does on the second set of kitten shots.

Well off to head down the road with food. Wish me luck!

I hope it turns out to be a mocking bird. That happened to me once. Big relief.

I now have an angry black demon kitten in my car. It is not totally feral so when it got close enough I grabbed it and threw it in the car. Thankfully I did not have to drive far to get home. Now I have to extricate it and get it to the feedroom where I will house it. It has sharp claws! It is about the same age as little Muffins and did eat some cat food I tried to lure it with but was not as ravenous for cat food as I would have thought. I wish I had a big dog cage but I do not. I think this one is a boy and Hansel will not be letting it stay.

Next update. Kitten was freaking out in the car but I was able to grab it by the scruff of its neck and transfer it to a cat carrier and down to the feed room. It has a plate of canned food and I am taking water bowl and I will rig up a litter box. We are about to have our daily deluge and it will be high and dry and safe from automobiles and predators. This one seems to be a little more acclimated to humans than the Fluffy Muffin.

Meanwhile the Fluffy Muffin is living the Princess life in the house. She will stick her head outside but has no desire to venture out there.

I was so so hoping that! But alas, it was a kitten. This one is a little spitfire. There I think I named it.

Congrats on another new kitty, even though this isn’t your plan. You are a good human. I think that you will do your best to find a new home for your new devil kitty. They are easier to re-home if they are tame and friendly!

I wonder if Hansel Spitfire is Floofy McMuffinPants’ sibling.

I am pretty sure they are siblings although this one is shorthair and looks like it might have some Siamese blood. Most likely the same Ahole dumped them. This little black one was probably harder to catch and transport down the road so it was not dumped with the first kitten. It had ventured across the street when I went to look for it. It was friendlier than little Muffin and was approaching me but every time it got close a car would drive by and scare it. Finally, it got close, and I thought “This is it kid. You are going to get run over if I don’t grab you”. I was not sure if all hell was going to break loose or not but I decided I needed to make my move. Not fun to drive the car with Beelzebub loose in it but I did not have to go far. thankful for that~

If it makes you feel better my blue state doesn’t do anything to help prevent strays and my animal control is worse than useless…

With all respect I live in a blue state and have never once whined about paying to license my animals. I don’t really think this is a fair characterization of people.

I, on the other hand, ignored a crying sound for several hours because I was sure it was a bird.

Nope, turned out to be baby Clem, whom some a$$hat stealthily left on my back porch. At least I found her before she could wander off and get eaten.

With Tricki Woo, who appointed himself as Cat Dad for the first few weeks

At least she’s cute…

And grew up to be a literal couch potato

Maybe not dumped?
I got my first barncats as 6-8wk old kittens that wandered up my driveway one 4th of July night.
Friends & I were lighting those little tanks that just fizz & smoke & here came the 2.
My guess is feral mom was teaching them to hunt & maybe the louder 'works got them scared/separated.
Because I had 2 housecats, I housed them in the shed former owners had set up for poultry.
That year the 4th was on a Saturday & the next morning the little gray tux female’s throat was swollen.
:astonished: Distemper?
Trip to the Emergency vet, who thought possibly cuterebra :face_vomiting:, but turned out her brother, the orange male, had bitten her.
Lost him at 6mos, to the road, just after having both neutered
She hadn’t been friendly before, but with him gone became very affectionate.
She stuck around for 10yrs, would come up to the house to get me, but had zero interest in coming in.
Lost her to a stroke, at least she was in the barn & I got her to my nearby vet, but too late :weary:
Indy (short for Independence, orange bro was Day):

Bless you for taking this bebe

No - they were dumped. No neighbors around except for the people across the street and they are responsible. No feral mama that lost these two either. Both were on the road or next to it crying for mom. Crying for hours. All of my cats were dumped here at one time or another. Not close to me, but there are areas where people take their dogs and dump them. Really sad!

There are rescues here that transfer dogs up north where there are stricter spay neuter laws.

How are Floofy and Hansel Spitfire Beelzebub doing today?

I keep getting a 403 error and it won’t post.
