Facebook has begun flagging and deleting ALL animal sales and adoption posts in ALL groups - not just the marketplace. If you are concerned about this - if you think this is wrong - I encourage you to sign the petition, and write to them directly. THere is also a facebook group fighting this. That is an old rule of fb that has not been enforced, unless someone complained about an individual or group.
Here is more on that story:
I think someone with time on their side decided to make a stink about that, put out petitions, etc. and it took off.
Well, that sucks! I drool over the horses on After the Races. Follow several rescues who fly dogs and cats around the
country to find homes. And a friend posts kill pen listings in the somewhat local area. Shades of Cber but it’s helping some of these horses find homes instead of rides. Amazed at the number of horses who come through trained to ride and drive. One of my cat sites posts cats for adoption in different parts of the country. Time to sign the petition.
I have not heard of anything being deleted in groups. Must of my groups are changing from buy/sell to support and are removing “sales” from their titles.
I have belonged to multiple horse sales pages for years, it’s where I bought my mare and I know dozens of other people with the same experience.
I have no issues with groups changing their names, or of a petition.
Maybe that is a too confusing rule as it stands, that fb needs to define better, so any abuses are still reported and those fb closed, the rest can keep operating as they are?
Seems that Craiglist had one such rule, but I see many horses and dogs for sale in their Farm section all the time, so they have some way to work around that rule today?
Craigslist allows livestock.
From my personal experience, facebook is where the people too crazy for Craigslist go.
Have a friend who listed a horse for sale on a facebook group. She saw the petition and signed it. Her ad was then immediately removed.
