Sired winners of $110,000,000+…champions in the northern and southern hemispheres.

He was a multiple track record holder, with the most famous track record coming on Sept. 19, 1985 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds when the Jug-ineligible colt raced in an invitational event. That race has been cemented as one of the most stunning performances in harness racing history as Falcon Seelster set an all-age world record on a half mile track. His time of 1:51 stood for 17 years.

What a bummer, it is always nice to have a living legend in a breed still around. Condolences eto all his connections. He appeared to have a wonderful life.

It’s always sad when a legend passes. Glad he lived and long and prosperous life. Condolences to his connections

I will say that anyone who has not watched the you tube clip that was posted, you really should. It was one of the most amazing things I have seen. Even if you don’t know anything about Standardbred racing, it will thrill you and give you goosebumps. And the call was as unforgetable as the race itself.

I took care of a Warm Breeze son

Back in the late 80’s as well. Big and dark , massive and very much a stallion. His name was Deadly Breeze, By Warm Breeze out of Silent but Deadly. My Satuday night Invitational horse.

I will not ever forget watching Falcon’s Delaware race. The horse I was rubbing didn’t win, and it just didn’t matter one bit.

when I was fresh out of high school I worked at a standardbred breeding farm outside of philly. We had LOTS and LOTS of Falcon babies. Such beautiful colts and fillies, they were all well desired and achieved high bids at yearling sales. You could always pick a Falcon Seelster baby out in the crowd.

Why was he Jug-ineligible?

I would think he wasn’t nominated being Canadian bred. Nomination of Canadian bred colts was still pretty uncommon in the 80s.

I recall seeing this grand old guy race in the Nat Christie Memorial Pace…he wsa sure something.

Why was he Jug-ineligible?[/QUOTE]

He simply wasn’t nominated as a yearling, and…the owners didn’t believe in supplement fees.
