Fancy Bodemeister colt

He sure is a looker & won’t be hard to spot on the track(if he makes it that far)

I saw that - can a pure TB really throw that color? Crazy!

Pretty classic splash white markings, which do exist in TB (along with overo, sabino, and dominant white which can all make for some pretty interesting and surprising looking foals)

Classic splash white, if I’m not mistaken! Curious where it came from…the dam looks to be solid bay, or close to it, and Bodemeister sure doesn’t have a whole lot going on. Maybe he’s super minimal splash with that blaze, or it’s a spontaneous mutation? The colt is flashy for sure!!!

I would love to see how they describe his markings on his papers. Especially that face!

My best guesstimate maybe because there is a whole lot of Secretariat going on in the pedigree. Bodemeister has a double dose on his bottom line;

The dam is by Bernardini with Secretariat on on his top line.

There is a double dose of Weekend Surprise on top and bottom line. With some Storm Cat that was know to put some chrome on his get.

Too lazy to find a full pedigree for his dam to see what’s going on there other than Bernadini family.

I have had couple of yearlings by Frost Giant on the farm and they had a LOT of white on their face and legs. He’s by Giant’s Causeway who is by Storm Cat and he has a double dose of Secretariat also, Top and bottom lines.

Cool looking foal but as a commercial breeder it would not be the coloring/markings that I would want in a sales yearling.

They might keep him, send him to Baffert and call him “White Head.”

This guy is definitely a fancy looker. Will be interesting to see if he can perform along with the looks.

He’ll sure make it easy for the race caller!

Very fancy colt. With double doses of Secretariat we can only pray he can run at the same level and short odds that his coloring attracts. Me, I’ll bet the gray.

Secretariat was last colt I recall that was too pretty to be a racehorse that proved everyone wrong.

If he doesn’t do well on the track (or doesn’t make it to the track), I’m sure a sport horse breeder would be interested.

The article itself states that Bodemeister throws a surprising amount of chromey get.

Anyway, with his daddy’s Bode Miller reference name, he totally needs a skiing/snow themed name. Snow Cap, Powder Hound, something along those lines.

P. S.: White Head sounds like a zit. Ew.

Quarter horses and paints with that head marking can be deaf. I wonder about this little guy.

One of my mares has a huge blaze, 4 white stockings (all of them have jagged edges), a white spot down on the left side of her jaw, and another on the back of one ear. IIRC, her markings description takes up a good 4 lines or so of space on her JC papers.

Markings aside, that looks like one very nice colt even if you paint him plain bay in your mind.

Should name him Baldymeister.
