It was fantastic!! Great speakers, big turnout, nice facility, free buffet at a clubhouse table that overlooks the track. They “pair” you with your own horse for the day, that you follow throughout the year. It may involve some sort of monetary prize at the end of the year, depending on how they race for the year. Mine ran giant and won by lengths in a 1&1/16th mile race.
Fantastic freebies - lots of literature, $2 bet voucher (I bet my paired horse and won), long sleeved navy tee with the MJC logo in the corner, MTHA baseball cap, travel mug, year’s subscription to The Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine, Maryland racing wall calendar (Ben is the December picture), key chain, that day’s program and other assorteds. Lots of fun.
