Farm House Tack alternative website, legit?

Is this website, https://www.newhouseus.com, legit? It looks different from the original Farm House Tack at https://www.farmhousetack.com

The only reason why I’m asking is because the newhouseus has some crazy deals on some items that are normally pretty pricy! However I also don’t want to get scammed so there’s that too

I would pass. First, as you can see, the url doesn’t match the business name, and there is another site for that business. And it’s “New House US”?

I looked at the Contact Us page. Their address is a house? https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/711-S-Prairie-St-Champaign-IL-61820/3225705_zpid/
And there’s no email addresss listed, just a form to fill out.

I checked the Wayback Machine to see what the site has looked like in the past, and there is virtually nothing. https://archive.org/web

Upgraded to “definitely not”. Here’s a post from the real business about that site specifically: https://www.facebook.com/farmhousetack/videos/813751579723751/

(I found that last one by searching for the phone number as shown on the fake site – all the numbers with no spaces. It turned up that image/video.)

Scammers will try to fake a real, reputable url to get people to send them money. They then post very low-price bargains in limited supply to entice buyers. Scammers do this with everything imaginable.

And it can be hard to get them to remove the site, or get the server host to remove it. But an avalanche of complaints to the server host will sometimes work.

Definitely not legit. Their FAQ directs customer service emails to Big Agnes (which is an excellent, legitimate outdoor gear company), so I suspect they’ve just ripped off copy and photos from various retailers online.

Thanks so much for all your digging! A little embarrassed to admit all my common sense went out the window as soon as I saw their prices for the Equifit Multiteq boots, should’ve known that they wouldn’t be that cheap. Glad I came to ask all of you before buying anything

I think I saw something either on their FB or in an email from the real Farmhouse that they had an impersonator website out there, and they have reported them multiple times but nothing seems to be done about it. Glad you avoided it!

That happened to me when I was looking for Hoka sneakers. I found a “sale” from what looked to be a legit Hoka site and wanted to believe . . . luckily Paypal refunded my money as soon as I figured it out. I guess it’s yet another scam as it’s pretty simple to clone a website.
