Farnam SimpliFly vs. SmartBug-Off

I would like to know if there are any opinions about how these feed through fly supplements work for horses. I like the price for SimpliFly better, but I really need the supplement to be effective. The two supplements I would like to compare are Farnam SimpliFly with LarvaStop, and SmartBug-Off® Ultra Pellets - Equinox 365®. Taste doesn’t matter, but two of my horses are allergic to bugs, one very very badly. I have tried fly spray, and fly sheets (and other fly gaurds) but they dont work and are ripped to sheds.

Let me know if there is a different product that you have found more effective than either of these. I am totally open to suggestions! Also, thanks in advance for any advise or opinions, it is really helpful to me and I appreciate it!

Sorry if this is already been discussed, this is my first time on The Chronicle of the Horse.

My red headed TB get welts from fly bites so i put him on the SmartBugOff Ultra. He doesn’t get welts now but you still have to fly spray. I can’t compare it to anything else since it is all I have used.

Thanks for the input. How long must he be on the supplement for it to take effect?

Honestly, I would think only 3-4 days. Think it is in their system pretty quick.
