Farrier/Board search near Agawam, MA

Hi All,

Well, as our hunt season is ended for the year, I’ve decided to move my horse from VT down to somewhere close to Agawam, MA, which is very close to the CT border.

Is there anyone on the list who can suggest:

1. A reasonably priced, private boarding situation? I would prefer a private barn with someone who has extra stall space vs a boarding barn. And as my guy is a hunter and we need to be out and about as much as we can, a good trail system is a must.

2. A farrier in the same area of MA/CT?

If you don’t get a reply here, I suggest you post this in the Open forum - I know there are some lovely smaller places in the area you are talking about, I don’t know them in particular (have done some hunter paces withing spitting distance of Mass and boarded in Lebanon, about 45 mins from the Mass border), and there are folks here on the board who know about them. I could also inquire of a friend of mine through facebook who bought a big house and a bit of property in western mass, if you can’t find any thing. Might be hard to find her this time of the season, but let me know if you can’t find a place, I can track her down.
